Refund & Exchange Policy

KEMET is built on quality. If something isn't right, we'll make it right — clearly, quickly, and without the runaround.

We offer direct exchanges for eligible products. Refunds are issued to your original payment method only in specific cases outlined in this policy. There are no store credits, no promo codes, and no cash alternatives — just a straightforward resolution.

Read this once. It'll save you time if you ever need to use it.

1. Definitions

  • Exchange: Returning a product and receiving a size/style replacement of equal value.
  • Refund: A reversal of payment to your original payment method (UPI, card, net banking, etc.), applicable only in specific cases outlined below.
  • Eligible Product: A product that qualifies for exchange or refund: unused, unwashed, with all original tags, labels, and packaging intact.
  • Return Request: A formal request initiated by you within the prescribed window, submitted via email with the required documentation.
  • Manufacturing Defect: A fault in stitching, fabric, or construction that exists at the time of delivery and is not caused by use, washing, or customer handling.
  • Wrong Item: A product delivered that differs from what was ordered in size, style, or color as confirmed against your invoice.

2. Exchange Eligibility

A product qualifies for exchange only if all of the following conditions are satisfied simultaneously:

Reason for exchange Size mismatch, confirmed manufacturing defect, or wrong item received. Change-of-mind exchanges are not accepted.
Timeframe Exchange request raised within 7 days of confirmed delivery date.
Documentation Valid Order ID, clear photographs of the product with all tags visible, and original purchase invoice.

If even one of the above conditions is not met, the exchange request will be declined without exception.


3. Refund Eligibility

Refunds to your original payment method are issued only under the following circumstances:

Refunds are processed to your original payment method only. No cash payouts, no alternative transfers. For COD orders, the buyer's banking details will be collected for processing. Processing time is 5–7 business days after inspection is cleared, subject to your bank or payment provider's timelines.


4. What Cannot Be Exchanged or Refunded

We will not accept return requests under any of the following circumstances:

  • Product shows any signs of wear, washing, ironing, staining, stretching, or carries any fragrance
  • Original tags, inner labels, packaging, or invoice are missing or tampered with
  • Exchange or refund request raised after 7 days of confirmed delivery
  • Damage is caused by the customer — including cuts, tears, pulls, water damage, or misuse
  • More than one exchange or return request raised per order
  • Products purchased during a clearance event, promotional sale, or marked "Final Sale" at the time of purchase
  • Products gifted, transferred, or used by a person other than the original buyer

Any product received in violation of the above conditions will be returned to you at your cost. No exchange or refund will be processed.


5. How to Initiate a Request

  • Raise a Request

    Email us at wearkemet@gmail.com within 7 days of your delivery date. Use the subject line: "Exchange Request – [Your Order ID]"

    Your email must include:

    • Your full name and registered phone number
    • Reason for the exchange or refund request
    • Clear photographs of the product with all tags and packaging intact
    • Copy of your original purchase invoice
    • Unboxing video (mandatory if claiming damage or manufacturing defect)

    Requests submitted without the required documentation will not be processed. The 7-day window does not pause during this time.

  • Review

    Our team will review your request and respond within 2 business days. We may ask for additional photographs or information if required. Approval or rejection will be communicated via email.

  • Reverse Pickup

    If your request is approved, we will arrange a reverse pickup at no cost to you within 3 calendar days of approval. Please ensure the product is repacked in its original packaging and ready for collection at the time of pickup.

  • Inspection

    Once the product reaches our facility, it undergoes a quality inspection within 3 business days. We check for: product condition, tags/labels/packaging intact, and consistency with the stated reason. If it fails, the product will be returned to you at your cost with a written explanation.

  • Resolution

    Total turnaround time: 7–10 working days from the date we receive the returned product at our facility.


6. Wrong Item Delivered

If you received an item that differs from what you ordered in size, style, or color, raise a request within 48 hours of delivery.

Your email must include:

  • Photographs of the item received
  • Photograph of the outer packaging and shipping label
  • Copy of your original invoice

Once verified, we will arrange reverse pickup and dispatch the correct item at no additional cost. If the correct item is unavailable, a full refund will be initiated to your original payment method.


7. Manufacturing Defects

A manufacturing defect must be reported within 7 days of delivery with photographic and video evidence. Defects reported after this window will not be considered.

Defects that qualify:

  • Stitching failure or broken seams at delivery
  • Fabric damage not caused by use or washing
  • Incorrect construction inconsistent with product specifications

Defects that do not qualify:

  • Wear and tear from use
  • Damage from improper washing or ironing
  • Pilling or color fading after use
  • Minor variations in shade or texture within acceptable manufacturing tolerance

8. Out-of-Stock Situations

If the product you've requested as an exchange is unavailable at the time of processing, we will notify you immediately. You will have the option to:

  • Wait for the item to be restocked (estimated timeline will be shared)
  • Receive a full refund to your original payment method

If no response is received from your end within 5 business days of notification, a refund will be initiated automatically.


9. Shipping Charges

10. What We Don't Refund

  • Original shipping charges under any circumstance
  • Orders outside the 7-day return window
  • Products that fail inspection
  • Any taxes, duties, or fees paid at the time of purchase (non-recoverable)

11. Grievance Redressal

If your concern was not resolved through the standard process, you may escalate to our Grievance Redressal Officer directly:

We will acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 business days.


12. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of India. Any disputes arising out of or related to this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Ludhiana, Punjab, India.


13. Policy Updates

KEMET reserves the right to update or revise this policy at any time without prior notice. The revised policy will be posted on our website and will take effect immediately upon posting. Continued use of our platform following any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
